Training at Eicher |
|
At Eicher, learning is continuous and ongoing. Eicher has a deep-rooted belief and commitment to the development of individuals. In order to facilitate this the competency mapping of individuals is done and in the required areas enhancement of proficiencies is done through the various routes of on the job coaching, training programmes job rotation and enlargement. Monitoring of progress and periodic reviews ensure adherence to the planned course. Off-the-job training may take the form of nomination to various programmes conducted by reputed trainers /institutions or in house programmes.
At the level of inducting the new employee into the organization the individual necessarily goes through an induction process. At this stage apart from the inputs regarding the organization, its processes and business, introduction and interfacing with the relevant people serves to facilitate inclusion and familiarization with the values and culture of the organization.
For the lateral recruits, care is taken to accord sufficient individual attention in the form of a customized induction module. In this case apart from the functional exposure, an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the various interfaces of the function is also provided. All lateral recruits have to undergo an e-learning induction module, which gives a good run down on Eicher business and processes. |

We recruit both Management Graduates and Graduate Engineer Trainees from the campus.
The Engineers from campus are inducted as Graduate Engineer Trainees. These trainees undergo a classroom induction capsule. Thereafter they undergo a hands-on exposure to various functions of their likely posting. This entails live projects across more than one Business Units and more than one product group. This exhaustive exposure lasts for nine months. By then the trainees are ready to contribute to the organization. The entire batch then undergo a week long behavioral inputs and a Career Sculpting Workshop which is essentially an Assessment Centre dovetailing into a Development Centre. This is followed by a team building exercise in the form of Outbound Adventure training. This culminates with their final functional and locational postings being finalized.
The Management graduates from campus go through a customized induction programme after which they are posted at one of the business units. There they gain a further understanding of the concerned business, processes and people through a unit and individual specific induction programme. They are then assigned specific area of responsibility or a live project to begin with as they embark on contributing to their function. |
